Match voltage before watts

A power station only accepts solar inside its input window. Read three numbers on the station's spec label: maximum solar input voltage, maximum input current and connector type. Then compare the station's voltage limit with the panel's open-circuit voltage (Voc), not its nominal wattage.

• 18 V class: the 100 W two-fold and 100 W four-fold panels are listed at 18 V operating voltage; the 60 W four-fold panel lists Voc 21.89 V, the 100 W ETFE TOPCon panel 21.6 V and the 200 W TOPCon panel 21.11 V.
• 24 V class: the 200 W four-section 24 V panel lists Vmp 24 V and Voc 28.8 V, and the 200 W six-section panel runs at 24 V on MC4. Use these only when the station's solar input accepts that voltage.

Pick the connector you will actually use

• MC4 with adapter cable: the 100 W ETFE panel ships an MC4 adapter cable with DC5521, Anderson, XT60 and DC7909 options; the 100 W two-section panel has MC4 leads with DC barrel and Anderson adapter options.
• DC plus USB on the panel: the 100 W six-section panel combines a 20 V / 5 A DC5521 output with USB-C PD up to 45 W; the 80 W four-section panel has a 7–28 V / 5 A DC port plus USB-A QC3.0 and USB-C; the 200 W fabric panel has DC5525, USB-A QC3.0 and USB-C ports with MC4 cable options.
• Largest surface: the 220 W bifacial panel collects light on both faces, with an IP68-rated surface and a magnetic alloy frame. Its accessory cables are optional, so order the lead your station needs.

A plug that fits is not proof of compatibility: polarity and current limits still have to match.

Weight and setup

Carry weight rises with wattage: 1.4 kg for the 60 W four-fold panel, 2.7 kg for the 100 W six-section panel, 4.3 kg for the 120 W four-fold panel and 5.76 kg for the 200 W TOPCon panel. Most models here have rear kickstands or supports; the 200 W TOPCon and 200 W fabric panels adjust from 30 to 60 degrees. Real input to the station varies with sunlight, angle and temperature.

What size solar panel do I need for my power station?

Start from the station's solar input limits. Keep the panel's Voc under the voltage limit, then check the current and wattage limits: panel wattage above the station's rated solar input does not add charging speed.
