Solar Flashing Beacons and Radar Speed Signs: Project Quotes

Solar flashing beacons and radar speed signs are quoted to your project from the details below: device type, size, colour, operating pattern and site. Tell us what the job needs, and we confirm in writing whether we can supply that configuration, and at what price, before you commit.

LinkSolar is a China-based B2B supplier of custom & OEM solar panels, solar cells and mounting hardware. Finished traffic devices are a separate quote-to-order line, built by our partner factories. They are not stocked or listed in our store.

Tender documents are welcome. Send the line item as written, and we will tell you which points we can and cannot meet.

How is the solar side sized?

Traffic devices run through winter and cannot go dark, so size for the worst month and for days without sun.

  1. Energy per day: average device watts × 24 hours. Use the average, including sleep and night modes, not the peak.
  2. Panel watts: energy per day ÷ worst-month peak sun hours ÷ 0.86. The divisor allows for 14% system losses, the default in the NLR PVWatts manual.
  3. Battery: energy per day × days without sun you want to cover, then allow for the usable share of the battery.

Worked example, for illustration only: a device averaging 10 W uses 240 Wh per day. At 3 peak sun hours, 240 ÷ 3 ÷ 0.86 is about 93 W of panel. This is not a product specification. Real device data and your site change the answer.

Running cameras or counters at the roadside?

For traffic counters, plate-reading cameras and message signs, see solar power for roadside and traffic monitoring. If you build your own devices and only need the panel, we can quote custom solar panels on your drawing.

Common questions

Do you keep beacons or radar signs in stock?

No. Each order is quoted and built to the confirmed specification. Every order is checked against that specification before it ships, and goods ship from China.

Are the devices MUTCD compliant or certified?

We do not make a general claim here. It depends on the model and factory. Name the requirement in your request and ask for the documents with the quote.

Do you install them?

This line covers supply and export. Installation and permits stay with you or your contractor.
