OEM and Private Label Solar Panels and Chargers

An OEM or private label solar panel is a flexible panel, foldable panel or solar charger built to your specification, or with your branding on a standard design, and sold under your brand. LinkSolar supplies them from partner production lines: you set the panel, logo, cable and label; we handle the specification, samples, pre-shipment checks and export.

LinkSolar is a China-based B2B supplier of custom & OEM solar panels, solar cells and mounting hardware. Custom orders are quoted on your drawing.

What can carry your brand?

Most private label work changes the parts your customer sees and handles, not the cell layout. Confirm these items in writing before sampling, because each one can change the price or the schedule. Which of these apply depends on the model.

Item What to decide Why it matters
Logo Printed on the panel, or a sticker or label Printing is usually for volume runs. A sticker lets a small first batch carry your brand.
Spec and serial label Size, content and position on the back Keep the template, so later batches match.
Top sheet ETFE; ask which top sheet applies to the model ETFE suits salt water and long service. PET panels yellow sooner.
Junction box Front or rear, and its shape A small change that alters how the panel looks and installs, and can change its size.
Cable and connector Gauge, length and plug On small lots, a custom cable can raise the unit price and add to the schedule.
Carton Printed box, or a sticker on a plain carton Printed retail boxes usually need large runs. Stickers suit a first order.

Which product should a new line start with?

Start with one product that matches a job your customer already has, then widen the range once it sells. For phones and power banks, a mid-power foldable charger is a sensible first model, because phones limit how much current they take. Compare listed models on the solar phone chargers page and the private label solar charger guide.

For boats and RVs, flexible panels are the usual start, in the sizes your market already buys. The flexible solar panels and portable and foldable panels pages show the current range. For a new outline, see custom flexible solar panels or custom foldable solar panels.

How a private label order runs

  1. Send the market, product, target sizes and expected quantity per model.
  2. Send your logo as a vector file (AI, CDR or PDF) if you have one. A low-resolution image can print rough.
  3. Order samples: 7 to 14 days, USD 10 to 200 depending on the spec. Expect the first sample may need changes.
  4. Test the sample the way your customer will use it, then write down the final panel, cable, label and packing.
  5. Production follows the confirmed specification, and every order is checked against it before it ships.
  6. For repeat orders, reuse the same template and confirm price and stock before each batch.

Plan ahead for your selling season. Sea freight costs less than air but takes longer, and Chinese holiday shutdowns can move production, so seasonal lines should order well before the peak.

What private label buyers have done

These are anonymized past projects. They describe those orders, not a promise of the same result.

Own-brand ETFE panels for a marine and RV seller

The buyer wanted several sizes with a logo and serial sticker, a spec sticker on the back and a sturdier build, in small batches per model. We advised a thicker back sheet, confirming the sticker print before production and keeping a template for later batches. Several repeat batches shipped by sea, and the buyer reported that panels sold out.

Flexible boat panels through an Oceania distributor

The buyer's orders all landed in the same month, and the production line was busy before the Chinese New Year shutdown. We advised ordering well ahead of the season and the shutdown. Orders repeated across several seasons. A printed retail box was left unfinished because box makers wanted a large minimum run.

A reseller changing how the panel looks

A camper accessory reseller reordering flexible panels asked for a thinner panel and a round-edged junction box on the front. We confirmed the change, including the resulting size change, and sent the data sheet and drawing. Repeat orders followed.

What usually takes longer

Stands and legs on a laminated foldable panel are a design job of their own, because the laminate cannot be sewn. Sewn pockets and bags use a separate process from lamination. Very large single panels hit lamination and shipping limits, so tell us the size early. Send the drawing first and we will say what is practical.

OEM and private label questions

What is the difference between OEM and private label?

The terms overlap. OEM usually means the panel is built to a specification you set, such as its size, connector or materials. Private label usually means selling a product under your brand with few technical changes. Many orders sit between the two, so tell us which parts need to change.

Can I start with a small order?

Often, yes. Order from 1 piece online. A sticker or label can brand a small first batch. Custom orders are quoted on your drawing and quantity, so state the quantity per model when you ask.

What file do you need for my logo?

A vector file (AI, CDR or PDF) gives the cleanest print, if you have one. A low-resolution image can print rough. Send it early, so the print can be confirmed before production.

Will the next batch match the first?

That depends on writing down the build. Keep the confirmed panel, cable, label and packing in one list, and check it against each new order. If the cells or materials change, ask for updated data, so your labels stay correct.
