An adjustable solar panel pole mount kit for panels from 5 W to 50 W, on poles from 2.0 to 4.5 inches. Rated to 100 km/h wind and 1.1 kN/m² snow load, in 5052 aluminium with 100% stainless hardware — the numbers are stated because on a pole mount they are the specification that matters.

Check these two dimensions before you order

Almost every pole mount that gets returned is returned for fit, not for quality.

  1. Pole outside diameter — 50.8 mm to 114.3 mm (2.0″ to 4.5″). Measure the pole itself, not the nominal pipe size. Nominal 2-inch pipe is not 2 inches across.
  2. Panel dimension — 172 mm to 540 mm (6.77″ to 21.26″) across the mounting axis. Check the frame dimension your panel actually presents to the bracket.

Why a pole at a remote site

  • Above the shade. Vegetation grows. A panel at ground level is clear in March and shaded in July; on a pole it stays clear.
  • Above the snow line and the splash zone. Height keeps the module out of drifting snow and off wet ground.
  • Above casual interference. Height is the cheapest security measure at an unattended site.
  • Aim independent of the structure. The pole can be positioned for sun rather than bolted to whatever surface happens to exist.

Setting the angle

The bracket adjusts through 0° to 90°, which covers every practical case. What angle to choose depends on what you are optimising for:

  • Off-grid or monitoring site — set for the worst month, roughly your latitude plus 15°. Summer surplus is worth nothing when the battery is already full; the design case is the month the site might go down.
  • Heavy snow — steeper sheds better. A shallow panel can stay covered for days after a fall.
  • Year-round energy — roughly your latitude.

Installation notes

  • The pole is part of the structure. This bracket is rated to 100 km/h; a pole that is under-set or under-sized is then the weak point. Set the footing for the panel area and the wind at your site.
  • Torque-mark the clamps. A paint mark across each fastener at install turns a later inspection into a glance.
  • Leave a service loop in the cable and secure it to the pole so the panel can be re-aimed without straining the entry.
  • Re-check the clamps after the first season. Hose clamps on a mast that moves in wind are worth one revisit.
