Solar panel mounting brackets are the hardware between a module frame and whatever you fix it to — a roof, an RV, a pole, a wall, a strut channel or the ground. This collection holds 30 stock parts across six mounting methods, for panels from 5 W to roughly 400 W. It is for installers, RV and marine builders, and integrators who want the fixing hardware to arrive with the panels.

How to choose mounting brackets
-
Start from the surface, not the panel. Tile roof, trapezoidal metal, RV skin, pole and balcony rail each rule out most of the table above, leaving one or two options.
-
Check the frame thickness. Clamps here are cut for 30/35 mm and 35–50 mm frames; a clamp that does not match will not hold, whatever its rating.
-
Count fixing points before price. Z-brackets are the cheapest way to hold a panel and the weakest per fastener; rails spread the same load across more anchors, which is why larger panels move to rails.
-
Compare three numbers, not photographs. Wall thickness in mm, alloy grade, and load rating in PSF or Pa. Two brackets can look identical in a photo and differ by an order of magnitude in strength — thickness is exactly what gets cut when a supplier competes on price. The aluminium bracket reference explains the alloy grades.
-
Spend up in two situations: roof installs, where fixing a failure costs far more than the hardware, and large deployments, where a small failure rate times unit count eats the saving. In hurricane, hail and heavy-snow regions, specify by load rating only.
Typical builds
RV, van and marine: Z-brackets or mini rails, stainless fasteners, one screw per foot into a roof truss. Sealing is the failure point, not the bracket.
Rooftop and shed: hanger bolts or tile hooks carry the load into the rafter, then a rail carries the module. Short rails often beat full-length ones on small roofs — see the short rail guide.
Cameras, sensors and remote monitoring: pole and wall brackets for 5–60 W panels, where most IoT and CCTV power budgets land.
Bulk & wholesale Z-brackets
Order size sets the price tier. Retail bulk (10–100 sets) runs $8–15 per set — no real wholesale break. True wholesale (500–5,000 sets) drops to $3.50–6.00 per set FOB China. OEM scale (10,000+ sets) reaches $2.20–3.50 per set FOB, with custom anodizing included. Private-label packaging starts at 500 sets for stock cartons with your own label, or 1,000–2,000 sets for printed boxes.
Lead time runs sample approval in 7–14 days, then 25–35 days mass production for a 5,000-set order. A standard 20-foot container holds roughly 18,000–22,000 sets depending on kit size, so sea freight — not air — is the right mode above 1,000 sets.
Material grade is the line item that decides warranty exposure: specify 6063-T5 aluminum (2.5 mm wall minimum, 3.0 mm preferred) and 304 stainless fasteners, with clear anodizing at 15 μm minimum or powder coat at 60 μm minimum. Ask for the mill certificate and a defect-rate commitment (1–2% typical, with replacement above 1.5%) before you sign the PO.

FAQ
Do you make custom solar bracket fittings?
Yes. Custom fittings run from 5 pieces and samples take 7–14 days from an approved drawing. Send the frame profile, fixing surface, quantity and required load rating; what belongs in a drawing package is set out in our guide to custom solar bracket fittings.
Which bracket suits a 100 W panel on an RV roof?
A 4-piece Z-bracket set is the usual answer, moving to mini rails above roughly 150 W or where the vehicle sees sustained highway speed. Check frame thickness against the clamp range first.
Are fasteners included?
It varies by part; each product page states what is in the box. Surface fasteners for the roof, wall or ground are usually chosen separately to match the substrate.
Building a kit list, or need a fitting that is not in the table? Send the panel model, surface and quantity and you get a bill of materials with load ratings against it. Get a custom quote.
